I am here for Friends

About Me

I am a happily married, outdoor loving, stay-at-home mom and ACE certified personal trainer (altho I'm not currently training any clients). My life these days basically consists of taking care of my son, keeping some sort of order and cleanliness in the house, skating at Tarwheels Skateway on Monday nights, weight training 4 times a week, and biking and inline skating outdoors whenever I can. I'd be hiking too if my son wasn't too heavy to carry in the backpack or was big enough to hike with me. Also, if I had the time, money, and a babysitter, I’d be involved in one or more competitive sports. I’m basically an athlete who loves to be in the best shape possible and who thrives on competition.
I was a National level inline speed skater from 1996 – 2004 until I had to quit due to my pregnancy and now I have a toddler, no babysitter, and to top it off speed skating practices are 2 hours away. So for now, my speed skating passion has been put on hold.
I started seriously weight training and got into the bodybuilding lifestyle in March of 2000 (thanks to my teacher & now husband) and have been at it pretty consistently ever since, minus some time after I delivered my son. I basically bodybuild as a hobby. I do it because I enjoy it, I enjoy being strong and striving to get stronger and I like the way it makes me look.

My Interests

Oh gosh, too many to list, but here are the main ones... Skating, (inline speed, recreational, and "bouncing"), fitness & nutrition, bodybuilding, hiking, biking, pretty much almost any sport I get an opportunity to play, the outdoors, sports cars, philosophical discussions, interesting debates at times, etc. And oh, in case you didn't notice, I like to talk/type, heh.

I'd like to meet:

People who share my interests, people who make me think, people who I can have interesting, intelligent, and logical conversations with, and of course old friends! If it's not obvious from your profile that you share at least one common interest with me, then you need to send me a message giving me some information about yourself otherwise I WON'T ADD YOU!

Music:

"Bounce" music, all kinds of Hard Rock - past & present (LOVE 80's Hairbands!), Techno, Dance Mixes, 80's music, some Hip Hop, basically whatever I'm in the mood for, but I can be caught listening to almost anything at times.

Movies:

Haven't seen any lately, just don't have time to sit down and watch a movie and going to the movies is even more of a rarity with a toddler & no babysitter. I like a variety of movies, comedies, action, horror, science fiction, chic flicks, lol, can't say that I'm into any one type more than the others. I tend to get really glued to movies that make me think.

Television:

I don't watch hardly any TV, I have way too many other and more interesting things to do! But if I do, I watch Niptuck, the Star Trek's, Discovery, Charmed, Smallville, and a lot of sitcoms like That 70's Show, which is my all time favorite, also like Seinfeld, Family Guy, Simpsons, Everybody Loves Raymond, Rosanne, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, etc. Oh wait... and I watch Spongebob Squarepants too, my 2yr old son loves it and I recently discovered, so do I! I think it's hilarious! But then again, I AM easily amused, LOL.

Books:

Have a lot of them, just don't have time to read them. When I was a teen I really liked to read science fiction and fantasy type books (so probably if I had nothing better to do I might still read them). Now days if I have time, I'm usually reading something educational, usually researching something (altho I do most of that on the internet anyway). I have a lot of identification books and books in the science fields and fitness & nutrition plus all the material I've had to read to stay an ACE certified personal trainer.

Heroes:

Real life - It would have to be my dad and secondly probably my paternal grandpa.Fictional - I always liked Cheetarah off the Thunder Cats, lol. There are probably a few others but I can't remember right now, heh, that was a long time ago!
