I have decided to start this myspace page to raise awareness on vaccine issues and concerns. I hope that in some small way the lessons I had to learn the hard way could help another family. I will mainly be focusing on the topics of vaccines, and I have had to learn that politics is a major issue to the topic, so I will address the politics as well. The vaccine program is broken. The nobel cause of saving lives and preventing and healing illness has disappeared behind big dollars and political gain at the cost of childrens health, well-being and lives. IF THE RICHEST INDUSTRY IN THE COUNTRY REFUSES TO INVEST A PORTION OF ITS OUTRAGEOUS PROFITS INTO FINDING VACCINES THE INDUSTRY CAN GUARANTEE ARE SAFE TO ADMINISTER TO VULNERABLE CHILDREN, THEN THEY SHOULDN'T BE IN THE VACCINE BUSINESS AT ALL!
I have met a number of families who have been affected by vaccine injuries. I have co-workers, friends and neighbors that have an Autistic child. My daughter is diagnosed currently with Dystonia, a movement disorder. Her current condition is a result from the events of the story I tell here. Austim is a large and very visible result of a vaccine injury. When the truth is told and the world witnesses the facts, millions of other conditions and disorders will gain attention as vaccine injuries.
Bailey's Story On October 29th 2004, Bailey was taken to her pediatrician for her 15-month check up. She was very healthy at her examination. Bailey was given two vaccination shots. One was the Hib B vaccine, commonly given to children to prevent Hib disease, which can cause Meningitis, as well as pneumonia, infections of the blood, joints, bones, and covering of the heart or even death. The other vaccine was a pneumococcal conjugate (Prevnar), which is given to infants and young children to protect against Meningitis and blood infections caused by a pneumococcal infection. Bailey suffered a severe vaccine related injury, resulting in seizures, her contracting Meningitis, and Encephalitis (a bleeding and swelling of the brain). She has spent over a month in Pediatrics and the Intensive Care Unit, until she was transferred to Chicago for rehabilitation. The brain damage is permanent, and her road to recovery is long. She suffers from Dystonia and can not eat independantly, speak and suffers loss of motor fine motor control. Unfortunatly she is not alone in the denial of vaccine injured children. As parents, we spend a lot of time to find the right pediatrician to take care of our children and we trust our Childrens Doctors but who are they trusting? Multi-billion $ profit making Drug Companies! Our Government with interests in these drug companies, the FDA who approves known health damaging medication, the CDC with the backing of the politicians with the drug interests! Our Doctors, like us, are lied to and the government has written protection for all these parties leaving the children and the parents out. It is a hard wake up call to realize what I have had to realize. I have spoken to families with children whom have Autism, Brain Damage, or even passed away. I never knew anything about these struggles until I found myself with my daughter going through these processes, conditions and situations. The system of protecting our children is broken in the name of profit and politics. There are over 30,000 immunization reactions reported to the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) annually according to Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, phone representative, interview with the author, September 13, 2006. It has been estimated that only 10% or less of vaccine reactions are reported according to "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Children's Vaccinations." Warner Books, 2001. p.xviii.
If you believe your child has suffered a vaccine injury, please be certain to file a Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS). It is never too late to file one. Filing this report will just make sure that your (or childs) adverse event is reported to the CDC for statistics purposes. Remember a reaction is not just death, permanant brain damage or similar extreme, but so is a high fever, extereme/excessive crying, letharic state, confusion, sleepiness, soreness at site, flu-like symptoms and other "typical" reactions.
