After living abroad for nearly seven years, I‘ve recently returned to my home town of Portland to find the rent skyrocketing, the population doubled, and the streets teeming with clowns and tall-bikes. Despite all this, Portland still rules, and I’m happier than I’ve been for years.
Having been a musician of sorts for most of my life, I've been involved as an active participant in the underground punk/HC scene for nearly two decades. I’ve been in waaaay too many bands, but a few of the ones who have actually made it out of the practice room have been RESIST, DEPRIVED, MASSKONTROLL, DETESTATION, and a lot more. While living in Germany I also played in the Stuttgart bands MURDER DISCO X and CLUSTER BOMB UNIT, as well as in a few others scattered around Europe - 6000 CRAZY (Karlsruhe, Germany), SUICIDE BLITZ (Stockholm, Sweden) HOLOCAUSTO POMADA (Palma, Mallorca), ENDROPHOBIA (Bremen/Seattle) and even short stints as a fill-in guitarist with UK punk classics DISORDER and bassist with the DETONATORS. These days I’m playing in SEVERED HEAD OF STATE, DEFIANCE, and an as-yet-unnamed band with some old pals. I'm also currently playing drums in a band called The PIERCED ARROWS, a three piece consisting of me and underground rock / punk stalwarts Fred and Toody Cole. There are a few more bands in the works - with some old collaborators - so stay tuned.
Anyways, over the past fifteen or so years I've toured extensively, playing shows in more than thirty countries (all over The US, Canada, and Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, Scandinavia, Eastern and Central Europe, the Mediterranean, the UK and Ireland) and more than thirty US states.
Besides touring with my own bands I’ve also booked a lot of tours for other bands, as well as filling the role of roadie / driver. Some of the bands I've had the pleasure of touring with in this capacity have been WOLFPACK, SKITSYSTEM, COUNTERBLAST, EXTINCTION OF MANKIND, BURNING KITCHEN, HELLSHOCK, CODE 13, SELFISH, and many more.
In addition to my musical activities, I’m currently enrolled in a landscaping/horticultural program at a local community college and working both at a nursery and doing freelance landscaping. Need some fucking shrubs pruned? I’m yer man. I dig bikes, too, and enjoy both offroad mountain biking as well as bicycle trekking. I am also a fanatic record collector, 'zine editor (GIMME DANGER), drinking enthusiast (IE: drunken maniac), poor excuse for a graphic artist, practitioner of mostly unsuccessful attempts at writing, and all around head case.
