While pretending to write letters to mates from his cell, Tait was secretly crafting songs telling of the violence, the angst and the hardships he faced throughout his mis-spent youth. These tales of drugs, crime and debauchery would ultimately become the forthcoming urbnri album "Young Team".
Upon his release from prison, Tait invited his Irish cousins - respected musicians on the Irish music scene - to form what would become urbnri following a series of musicians unable to capture the raw, pained honesty and angst-filled passion of the songs. The move paid off and urbnri were born.Following the time spent perfecting the sound and material, Tait was spotted by producer Stuart McCredie who said recently "I heard urbnri for the first time last year and I immediately booked them in the studio for free just to hear their songs recorded perfectly. The stories behind the songs are mental!".The Daily Record have said "urbnri sound like a mixture of Graham Coxon and a Glaswegian The Streets. They look like Italian football fans and have a unique slant. Front-man and singer Kev Tait is something else. TOPS FOR ORIGINALITY".
