Català Voltor naix el 2002 a Aldaia, comarca de l'Horta, on comença a donar-se a conèixer actuant en diferents indrets de la zona. Dos anys més tard, graven una maqueta de quatre temes, Identitat , on s'hi pot sentir una descàrrega metàl·lica amb guitarres contundents, percussió trepanadora, i veu estripada, tot i que no exclusivament, doncs comptaven regularment amb la col·laboració d'una secció de vents, que hi posava el contrapunt. Aquesta primera demostració, amb lletres cent per cent socials, fou la que començà a donar ressò a la banda.
Després d'una reorganització dels membres del grup i de l'augment dels concerts per tot arreu, el 2005 enregistren el seu primer disc a l'estudi de Cambra Records, titulat Aprenent a Volar. Hom ara s'hi troba amb nou talls on aprofundeixen en el so metàl·lic i el hardcore, amb una veu decididament compromesa, exportant a "Encén l'oïda" i a "Atac feixista" les seues experiències personals directes; d'altra banda el disc compta amb diverses col·laboracions com la de Xavi Sarrià (Obrint Pas) a "Quan no quede res" i la de distints membres d'Sva-ters a "L'horta", a més recuperen i evolucionen un tema de la maqueta, "Solidaritat".
Les temàtiques com la llibertat d'expressió a "Extrem", actualment molt minvada al País Valencià, la destrucció del territori de l'horta i la defensa ferma de les arrels a "Fills d'un sentiment", entre altres denúncies a les injustícies d'arreu del món, marquen l'objecte de la seva còlera i els sentiments que evoquen als temes que composen el disc. Voltor aposta per obrir les ments i llançar un crit a favor de la justícia social, el respecte al medi i a les persones, i la lluita com a únic camí per aconseguir la llibertat.
A hores d'ara ens trobem en la fase d'elaboració i preparació dels temes que composaran el nou disc, que segons les previsions, veurà la llum en la tardor de 2007. (Data aproximada: 1 novembre)
Després d'un intens treball dalt i baix dels escenaris durant gairebé tot 2005 i 2006 de presentació i gira d' Aprenent a Volar (2005) , junt a la nostra important participació al primer Tourbolet Show, i les infinites actuacions per donar-hi suport a tota classe d'iniciatives i projectes populars, majoritàriament de l'Esquerra Independentista, sobretot arreu dels Països Catalans però també per altres pobles oprimits; ara ha arribat el moment de fer un pas endavant, i tornem a les actuacions aquest any 2007 amb una ferma aposta per donar-nos a conèixer més encara, oberts a arribar a qualsevol indret del món on hi hagen persones i col·lectius en lluita per l'alliberament (personal/social/nacional...), per tal d' explicar-hi allà com venim fent des de sempre, la nostra lluita particular, transmetent-la de la millor forma que sabem, tocant.
Darrerament, hem resultat guanyadors del concurs "Tirant de rock 2007", on entre d'altres premis se'ns ha recompensat amb l'actuació al proper Festivern (07-08). A més a més, cal dir que hem participat amb bastant èxit al concert pel 25 d'abril (1707-2007) "300 anys de lluites i cançons" a València i al 3er Festival Rock a la Mar de Dénia (Marina Alta).
Amb un so i una posada en escena més elaborades i contundents, presentarem els nous temes combinant-los amb un petit recull de cançons i versions.

Voltor was formed in 2002 in Aldaia (L'horta) and kicked off by performing several gigs throughout the Valencian Land, thus making themselves known to a wide number of people. Two years later, a 4-track demo was recorded in which we can appreciate the strongly metallic voice of overwhelming guitars and percussion counterpointed by wind instruments. This first demonstration, with committed social lyrics, began to echo the band's name all around.
After a line-up reorganization and a schedule full of gig dates, in 2005, Voltor, like the vulture, took off and recorded their first studio album with Cambra Records called “Aprenent a volar”, with new attempts to go deeply into metal and hardcore sounds with a very involved message as in “Encén L'oïda” and “Atac Feixista” which was inspired by their own personal experiences. The band was aided by various collaborations including the great one by Xavi Sarria (vocals for Obrint Pas) in “Quan no quede res” and in addition to it, an old, but improved, theme was recovered from the demo (Solidaritat).
Matters like the freedom of speech, currently in danger in the Valencian Land, in “Extrem”; the “land destruction” in “L'Horta” and the tight defence of roots in “Fills d'un sentiment” among a call for justice throughout the world, make clear the reason for their anger and the emotions that are reflected on the songs that make up the album.
Voltor bet for opening our minds, giving a shout for social justice and respecting the environment and the people, and they regard the permanent struggle as the only way to achieve freedom.
Right now we are making the songs that will make up the upcoming album, which is expected to be out this autum of 2007 (Approximate Release: 1st November)
After an intense work going up and down the stages during 2005 and 2006 presenting Aprenent a volar, along with our important participation at the first Tourbolet Show and the endless performings to support all sorts of initiatives and popular projects, mostly those of the Independence Left, mainly throught the Catalan Countries but also through other oppressed regions. Now we are committed to taking a step forward, and we're back onstage this year [2007] with the firm intention to make ourselves known even more, open to reach everywhere in the world where people and organisations struggling for (personal/social/national..) liberation, in order to explain, as we've been doing up to date, our very own struggle, the best way we know, by playing music.
Lately, we've been found winners of the "Tirant de rock 2007" contest, among other prizes such as playing this year's Festivern (07-08). Moreover, we have to remark that we've taken part quite succesfully at the April 25th gigs (1707-2007) "300 anys de lluites i canços" (300 years of fight and songs) in Valencia and at the 3rd Rock a la Mar Festival of Denia (Marina Alta).
With a more elaborated and overwhelming sound and stage act, we present new themes with a little range of songs and versions.
