Revolta 21.cat Welcome to Revolta 21!Revolta 21 is a metal-hardcore band from Catalonia, a small country located between Spain and France. In catalan, our native language, revolta means riot. The number 21 refers to the twenty first century. We have chosen this name because the twentieth century was a period of agitation and riots all over the world in order to achieve a better society. Now, in the early years of this new century, that spirit is, in our opinion, alive. Revolta 21 means hope in struggle as a way of change the establishment and a warning for the youth, which is often more worried about entertainment that in fighting for human rights and dignity. As you can see, Revolta 21 is a musical project with a political objective. This is what youll find if you listen our music:MUSIC:Music is the most important thing in our lives. We are five friends with a common passion for any kind of music. Our style is a mix of rock, hardcore, metal and punk rock. Talking about influences is not easy for us, because every one of us had different preferences. However, here you have some of the bands that have influenced us since we were children : The Clash, Sick of it all, Rage against the machine, Deftones, Thrice, Incubus, Papa Roach, Nirvana, Bad Brains, Rise Against, Bad Religion, Negu Gorriak, ACDC and a lot of other bands that deserve our admiration. Our sound is basically fast and energetic, with blunt guitars and very skilled bass and drum players, which makes the rhythmic section very effective. Finally, we have a singer who combines melody and rage in his voice.We have recorded two long plays, named El crit dun poble (the shout of a people) and No oblidis mai (never forget). Now we are working in our next long play. Our live show is hard and direct, perfect if you want to shake your head while the rage boils your blood. Remember: all of you are invited!!POLITICS:As far as politics is concerned we have two main battlefields: socialism and nationalism. As we have said before, we live in Catalonia (maybe you will have heard about our main city, Barcelona). Our nation is divided in three states: Andorra, France (since 1659) and Spain (since 1714). We have a native language named catalan, that we use in our lyrics. Even though that more than eleven million people uses daily this language, it isnt official in the European Union. France and Spain have been trying to destroy our culture for centuries. They always failed. We have survived even to a civil war and forty years of military dictatorship. Both states have forbidden our language in different periods of history. However, here we are. Catalan people have always fought for their culture and they always will. We demand the independence from Spain and France and the reunification of our nation, named Pa..sos Catalans (catalan countries). The catalan countries are composed of Catalonia, Valencia Kingdom, Balearic Islands, Andorra and the north part occupied by France, named Rossell... This is our fight, our target and our future. Forward from freedom!!!We are citizens of Catalonia, but we are also citizens of the world. Our second target is international socialism, which is the only way to save this planet from the killing capitalism. Capitalism doesnt work because it destroys the environment and sentences poor people to death. If you switch on your television you will see how thousands of men and women die daily because of famine, illness, bombs or bullets. We stop it! If we want to build a world with respect for the human rights and social justice we must work together for the becoming of socialism. Thats the path. Walk it with us.Independence and socialism!
