I love my family and friends more than I can communicate in words. I love my Father, music, sunflowers, good coffee, The Oklahoma Food Coop, photography, browsing in bookstores, thrift stores & junk shops, walking outdoors, playing volleyball, the zoo, sociology and social justice issues, classical guitar, drums, exotic places, Bricktown, movies, Mexican food, good wine & wheat beer, singing, curling up with a book on a rainy day, the smell of Oriental essential oil, my elephant ring, because it reminds me of Africa, cultures, laying out in the warm sunshine, clean sheets, thunderstorms, National Geographic & The Smithsonian, genealogy research, poetry, Star Trek, dancing, laughter, and hugs, as many as I can get!
Barak Obama, Jane Addams, William Wilberforce, Hannah Whitall Smith, Joyce Meyer, Brennan Manning, Darlene Zschech, Moses, Keith Green, Rick Warren, Prudence Crandall, Abraham Lincoln, Deitrich Bonhoffer, Nelson Mandela, Aung San Suchi, Mahatma Ghandi, Eleanor of Aquitane, Robin Hood, and Kermit the Frog.
My youngest and I just saw Nim's Island. Iron Man rocks! I love Robert Downey, Jr. . . . we've also seen Deception and Baby Mama, which is sooo funny! I'm pumped about Indiana Jones . . . we're BIG Indiana Jones fans 'round here. I even have 4 or 5 of the young Indiana Jones videos. Oh, and Chronicles of Narnia . . . can't wait!
Not much tv lately . . . just Law & Order mostly, if I happen to be reading in my room, or cleaning up.
Finally finished Jane Addams and the Dream of American Democracy by Jean Bethke Elshtain. I'm almost finished with The Audacity of Hope by Barak Obama. It's a really terrific book! Honestly, he seems like a very humble, well-balanced guy. I like him!
My heroes include the ever-growing list of those now gone who have worked incessantly for a better world in their times, which are our past, and for the future, which is our present. May we be empowered to do the same.
