www.easternillusion.comAvina is a fresh and upcoming talented artist currently based in the UK. Besides her musical talent, she is an extremely hardworking, dedicated and motivated individual who has an eye for detail and strives for perfection when it comes to performing.
Along with singing and dancing, Avina also has a great interest in poetry and song writing, and has written many original songs, which fuse both the Indian and Western music styles together. She plans to release some of these in 2006/7.
In 2005, Avina was chosen as the main feature for the Diwali Special of OHM Media in Amsterdam, a cultural program which was broadcasted on television with ratings of 200,000 viewers across Europe. For this she shot a music video to her own devotional song and has subsequently received a great response from the public.
She has also worked as an independent artist recording albums, for commercial as well as promotional purposes. In 2001, she recorded a personal album in India, in which she re-sung many popular Hindi tracks. In 2002, she began working with a few music producers for vocal recordings, with both Hindi and English tracks.
Music and the performing arts has always been a natural gift for Avina, giving her the ability to sing and dance from a young age. Because of great support from family members, she was able to enter into this field and begin performing from childhood, giving her first major solo performance at the age of just 3.
