We all attended Royal College in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and we started doing some of our own compositions for school events and for fun. These songs got popular among our friend and we decided to go further with it.
We did several singles since then and went on to release our first album Muthal Suvadu in 2004. It was played in local Tamil FM stations and we decided to work on a second album.
Since we had no name for our group we went on searching for a name. The logic behind the name The PRIME8s came from Arunan who first came up with the name Primates. Later it was changed to The PRIME8s.
We have made appearances in Shakthi FM's popular show Illyashakthi twice, first in 2004 and again in December 2005.
We are presently working on our yet-to-be-named second album (code named ). Also, 2007 will be the first year in which we will not reunite as all of us are geographically separated, for our higher studies.
