My Luminol Beaux; Your Loser Bozo

About Me

The tale of a lover scorned, of pop, rock, roll and revenge - of a love gone bad, again.
Conceived May 2006 AD; Begotten September 2006 AD
Our story begins...
and there might've been a time when I could've driven to the flat and apologised, said I was sorry for all the things that didn't go our way, made The One see things the way I see things, like this: with frustration and anger and rage and regret, but above all, with hope. I tell myself all is not lost and all is not lost and all is not lost. Who am I kidding? Hope is gone. And I guess it's a story like any other story, it's a story that's been told a thousand times before - but call this; a confession.
They flee, file and fall from the clubs and the pubs on drugs into taxis, kebab shops, pizza houses: each and every one dense in their ignorance of what's about to come. Hours have passed me by though they seem only like minutes. And as the rain pours down on this sorry excuse for a city I catch a glimpse of The One with the last of them exiting the smoke and drink fuelled hell behind those scabby doors of that den of dirge and escape from daily drudge: the nightclub.
I stand there: waiting, hoping The One will see me, willing The One to come to me and for everything to maybe, just maybe, be all right again. But The Other appears as if from nowhere and takes The One by the hand and The Other leads The One away, the two of them laughing, dodging puddles, stealing kisses. And something happens. Something in me changes. Everything changes. Things will never be the same again; I will never be the same again.
Resolved, I follow The One and The Other to the flat. Resolved, I watch the lights in the window of the second storey apartment illuminate that bedroom whose walls and bed and sheets are all too familiar to me. Resolved, I wait. Things will never be the same again. Resolved, I enter the flat using the key The One gave me just nine months ago. All is not lost. Resolved, I climb the stairs. Things will never be the same again. Resolved, I slide the key into its lock. All is not lost. Resolve washes over and through and under and into me: all is not lost and all is not lost and all is not lost. The papers will say different. The police and the ambulance and the parents and the friends and The Other lover will all say different.
The rain ceases its assault.
The sun rises.
Today everything is different.
Yorkshire is my playground and there's only one thing left to do: join a rock n roll band.
It's the perfect façade.
(To Be Continued...)
