About Me

SYNOPTICON play melodic, danceable synthpop with an aggressive edge. Influences include Depeche Mode, Human League, VNV Nation, Pride and Fall. The group combines quality songwriting with contemporary dance music, supported by an energetic live show featuring integrated visuals.
After releasing a string of successful titles on major and independent labels, often working with world-renowned producers, Edwards decided to form SYNOPTICON. He was rapidly joined by Medusa, Clan of Xymox member and renowned Amsterdam event organiser (Bal du Masque, Medusa), and V-tox, musician and resident VJ at several successful parties. Merlijn Toussaint, set designer and craftsman, was soon enrolled to fulfil percussion duties.
The group is currently performing live and recording its first album.
