I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Currently I am devoted to building an electric vehicle. I have built a computerized guage software suite in .Net already. My father and I are building a set of modularized battery chargers.

I write software for a company called National Networks. Over the last six years, I have grown the software division from two programmers to four with a focus on customer service. Anyone can write software, but a successful firm believes the customer deserves to talk to someone everytime they call.

My Interests

Programming, Electric Vehicles, Computer Controlled Circuitry and McNeese State University Football

Here is a view into my current endeavor, building an affordable electric vehicle battery charger that features temperature monitoring for each battery. We want the battery charger to be low cost and have a high efficiency rating so that we will not waste electricity. Some common EV battery chargers lose at much as 300 Watts per 1Kw of recharge just with inefficient design! A standard EV battery bank can absorb 10Kw of power, that means 3Kw of electricity is wasted everytime you recharge!

I also actively review products for Epinions. Here is my profile page: Rgathright

Another craft I taught myself was carpentry. The following photos are of a pine table I built that holds an integrated two stage air filter and computer. The computer has a wireless network card that allows me to upload photos and have the screensaver randomnly display them. The system is very quiet and is the topic of much discussion when friends come over!

I'd like to meet:

People who want to save gas and willing to convert their cars into plug-in hybrids by simply installing a battery charger. Read my blogs!
