About Me

When I was 18 years old I watched Bob Marely's "Time Will Tell" and I discovered the concept of roots reggae. Bob's lyrics meant something for me as I was also born and raised in a ghetto environment in Japan called Buraku. I learnt that the message in reggae was to rise above the pressure of sufferation through faith in His Imperial Majesty Jah Rastafari.
So in 2000, I decided to play roots reggae and dub in Kyoto under the name Redemption Sound. Since then, I have played alongside acts such as Aba-Shanti-I, Disciples, Jonah Dan, Zion Train, Al Campbell, General Lee, Twilight Circus, etc.
My good friend Steven Phillips (Composite), who I met in Japan, introduced me to the reggae scene in Australia. I then lived in Melbourne Australia in 2006-2007 where I played with local reggae and dub artists such as Chantdown Sound, Heartical Hi-Fi, Agency Dub Collective, Binghi Fire and DJ Delay. In September of 2006 I had the pleasure of headlining independent radio station PBS FM's 200% Dub night. I was also interviewed on PBS FM's reggae program Heartical. I toured Canberra and Sydney with dub band Agency Dub Collective, which gave us the opportunity to link with Sydney crews Basslines and Foreign Dub etc.
Back in Kyoto I have once again linked with Australian reggae artists Binghi Fire and Dub Ninja (Agency Dub Collective) to perform in Japan. The next step in my journey is to voice in collaboration with an international reggae label and continue to play and spread Jah word.
