Twisted Folk

A festival for folk that don't quite fit.

About Me

UPDATE 4/27/07:

Vermillion Lies is too busy this summer to put on a festival. Yay for us! But it means no festival this year.

Maybe next year......or maybe later.....or maybe.....

2006 was amazing.

The Twisted Folk Festival is not accepting 'Artist Submissions' at this time.

History:

Started in 2005 by sisters Kim and Zoe Vermillion of the band Vermillion Lies, the Twisted Folk Festival is a musical event to celebrate the art of people whose music could, but doesn't quite, fit into the genres of folk, blues, americana, and jazz. Mainly: genres that are/or were traditionally made by people without money or training.

Many of the bands featured play 'found objects.' That is: objects that were never meant to be musical instruments but found themselves in the hands of musicians anyway.
