About Me

Nationality: Puerto Rican and ChineseHometown: Jamaica, Queens, NYOn the night of February 22, 1986, Carmen Rios gave birth to a baby boy in Manhattan, New York. From that moment on, a star had been born. With music being in the family for many years, it was now time to pass it on to the new generation. His destiny was to follow in the footsteps of his uncle, Hector "Slam" Rios, who conquered the music industry in the mid 80's with his group named Newcleus and their hit song entitled "Jam On It".Growing up in the city was tough. Drugs, gang violence, and death were a constant reminder of the cruelties of life. As a kid, Jay would dream of performing in front of millions during his very own concert. Attempting to sing and "spit a verse" was a daily occurrence... Until his life hit a brick wall. Many years pass with his biological fathers absence and at the age of sixteen, Jay's family moved to Florida. At this point, he took music seriously and brought it to a new level in his life. The divorce situation between his mother and step father was still lingering in the air. The constant stress and anguish of a torn family left Jay with no where to go, so he turned to the pen and pad. With this, he wrote numerous songs about his life, and trials and tribulations. At the age of eighteen, he was kicked out of the Florida home. This left Jay on the street, pondering about where his life will end up. Until he found an opportunity to live in Georgia and grabbed it as fast as he could.Shortly after moving to Georgia, Jay enrolled in Georgia State University. He then set up a studio in his apartment in Lawrenceville, GA. This is where he composed his demo. Every lyric and every beat was his own creation. He expressed his talents the only way he knew how... musically. During this process, Jay caught himself getting involved in the wrong crowd which led to his arrest. With this sudden turn of events he was forced to make a crucial decision in life. Thoughts of suicide arise as he thinks he cannot go on... yet other thoughts of future aspirations linger. Once out of prison Jay picks his life back up and continues where he left off. From lawrenceville to the heart of Atlanta, Jay embarks on a movement... Money Entertainment. with Atlanta becoming the capital of the south, it was only fitting to join this flowing wave. Working with numerous artists gave Jay a household name to remember. Today, beyond the struggle, Jay proves to many that dreams are as close as you want them to be. Reuniting with his father and sister filled the rest of the pieces to the puzzle."Jay Money is an innovator. He introduces a new sound and a different style to the industry. He is not only aiming at fans who love hip/hop and rap, but fans who are diverse. Not to mention he touches the hearts of many with songs that people can relate to, but also provides them with "club bangers" to get them on their feet and moving." (Vincent Anthony - UPCOMING magazine)"I believe I am a confident individual. My uniqueness speaks for itself. Give me the opportunity... and Ill give you the success... gauranteed." (Jermaine Lee aka Jay money)
