Born, Jared Rackley on August 23, 1982 in Tallahassee, Florida, J-Luv became the last of Dorothy Rackley and Rev. Ronald L. Rackley, Sr’s four children. Having embraced his love for music at the tender age of 3, J-Luv has performed in several venues; The first being that of his church where he sang as a lead vocalist for the choir and later became a noticeable voice at local Tallahassee weddings, local talent shows and other local events.
As J-Luv matured so did his passion for music. He no longer just wanted to sing and perform, he longed to write record and begin the early stages of promoting and marketing his professional career in music.
With the help and support of family, friends and local supporters, J-Luv’s name was put out in front of major recording artists. This later landed him several opening acts and recording opportunities with and for artists such as Field Mob, Avant, T-Pain, Blood Raw, B.G. and Ginuwine. In addition, J-Luv’s also recorded and performed original compositions with many of Tallahassee’s up and coming artists.
J-Luv’s most recent accomplishments were singing in front of Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul for Fox’s "American Idol" and recently obtaining a performance opportunity at the legendary Apollo Theater. J-Luv’s God fearing disposition and "sky’s the limit" mentality have taken very far within his music career thus far but as he says, "This Is Just The Beginning" and there is no limit as to how far J-Luv is willing to go to fulfill his dreams and touch millions with his voice.
