Bio
Whether on radio, television or on mixtapes, Brandi Garcia is making her mark in the south as the voice of the ladies. Starting off in her hometown of Tallahassee, FL, Brandi worked at many different radio stations including 96.1 Jamz, Groovin 106, 1270 WNLS, 949 WTNT, and 100.7 The Beat. She held down various positions such as overnights, mixshow host, weekends, sales assistant, promotions, etc. while also working part time at the local CBS affiliate (Ch. 6).
After leaving Tallahassee, Brandi picked up middays at Power 93.3 in Huntsville, AL and started DJing clubs all over the Tennessee Valley while marketing her mixtapes. Almost three years ago, she discovered a whole new voice at Houston’s #1 Hip-Hop station, 97.9 The Box, where she brought a new flava, her mixtapes & a serious grind to the city.
Garcia is currently the midday host on 97.9 The Box, DJ’s in nightclubs on the weekends, does voiceover/acting work on the side, and has a successful mixtape series called Southern Stiletto’s. Having interviewed the likes of Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent, Jay-Z, Mariah Carey, Bow Wow, T.I. & Ice Cube, she is determined to get the real scoop to her listeners inside Garcia Gossip. This "2006 Justo's Female Mixtape DJ of the Year" & “2006 Southern Entertainment Awards Female DJ of the Year†is just getting started and is on a mission to take over not only the Houston market but will soon be the female voice of the South!
