Tall. Gangly. Blue hair. Musician, sound designer, dj, producer-type person living in minneapolis, mn.
I played guitar and programmed drums for dies irae !us from 1996 to 1999. We self-released an album called "Dogma" in 1998. We also played at the Gothic Meeting in Leipzig in 1999. It was our last ever show. Overall, the band was an excellent learning experience in the many facets of being in a band. Many lessons were learned.
I was a co-host of a weekly radio program called The Descent on Radio K from May of 1997 to January of 2003. My dj moniker was and currently is bluehairedharlequin or just harlequin. We played a variety of industrial, electronica, post-punk, goth rock, and various cross-over genres. Our dj team spun around town between 1997 and 2003 at various local clubs and events including Edge of Darkness @ the Ground Zero backroom and Club 241 @ the First Ave Mainroom. We spun opening sets for Gary Numan and Ohgr at the First Ave Mainroom. Recently I spun at Station 4 in support of Rek the Heavyweight .
After the Descent disbanded, I did some guest dj spots at Kobalt in the First Ave VIP room as well as spinning occasional house parties with dj [space bar].
I am also a sound designer and composer for performance art and theatre events. I've contributed to numerous projects since 1998 included various performances in the Xperimental theatre at the U of Mn, several dance pieces, as well as collaborations with the Praxis Group. In 2000, I contributed live sound design for an 8 hour performance of Die Hamletmaschine by the Praxis group for the Fringe Festival. As a precursor, we performed a section of the show in the First Ave mainroom as an opening act for Einsturzende Neubauten.
This all led to participating into a 2nd, completely unique 8 hour performance of Die Hamletmaschine at the International Theatre Conferance in Amsterdam in 2002.
You can hear some examples of my sound design work at soundclick .
I create and perform live noise-beat compositions under the moniker Dissociate . I have produced and self-released numerous versions of 4 to 6 song demos that have floated around since 2001. You might have heard one. I had the pleasure of performing for Covenant at Station 4.
I play guitar and serve as producer for Stellar Vector . We are an eclectic and melodic amalgamation of progressive rock and electronica. Our debut EP is called "You're Not Included." and is released independently with help from Mighty Oak Music Services. It will rock your socks off (when get to listening to it already).
I produce remixes with Charles from Stellar Vector/Little Tin Box under the moniker In.Flect. You can purchase our 12 Rods remixes from 12rods.com
I am now contributing my drum programming and sound design chops to Aurascape, a new romantic/trip hop project that is being produced by Colin Mansfield .
I will be lending some live guitar parts to Tasha's Laughter starting with our first joint TL/SV gig on April 24th, 2008.
I also work in an independent book store on campus.
