Her name is (pronounced "Ah-mee") and it means friend in french.
It's only fitting that Miss Ammie Moore was born in Washington DC, since she has every intention of "running the show" someday soon. Her aspirations have everything to do with her music and her art.
In the fall of 1998 in San Francisco, she joined a group called Nova Productions with her friend Benny Sanches and recorded her first track, "Like No Other." The song was met with acclaim and made its debut on KUSF radio in December of that year.
The group went back into the studio to record a new song,
"Rise From Despise," an ethereal, trip-hop smokey ballad, made distinct by Ammie's chocolate-smooth voice. The song was finished and released in the fall of '99.
Says Ammie,"My favorite genres to sing are trip-hop, jazz, drum and bass, electronica and rock music. I want to pursue my singing career because I feel I have a strong message to share, and I know that I can positively influence people through my music."
During the day, Ammie is a graphic designer. At night, however, her interests turn towards music. She has performed at some of San Francisco's hottest underground parties. Currently, she is collaborating with artists of all genres and working on her masters in film. She is one to watch. - Nik Dessle
