The Brain

ELECTRONIC MUSIC DJ AND PRODUCER

About Me

Brains (origionally known as 'Brains of a Chicken' for tripping over) is from the suburbs of London. His real name is Simon. He has been DJing for over 7 years currently plays Nu Skool Breaks, Electro and Techno. Brains started producing music at school (in 1999). All his compositions for GCSE music were tough dance music tracks which got little support or recognition from the teacher. To check Brains and his friend Ryan showed a tape of the garage classic by Shanks and Bigfoot, 'Chocolate Boy' which was currently in the charts and told the teacher they made it and asked him what he thought. The teacher replied it's too repetative. At this point Brains followed his own trail and got his first remix pressed a year or so later which was of a Garage track by Unison called '187' on white label promo with 3 remixes by other artists. His skills have since improved and he has since become part of a hip hop group called East Central (check WWW.MYSPACE.COM/EASTCENTRAL). Brain's claim to fame is temporarily working as a runner at Milo Recording Studio London. Seeing the professionals at work was really inspiring for him and he took on board good tips from engineers such as Greg Flemming AKA Wizard, and Rich File (part of Unkle).

Sounds Like: The Brain specialises in the nu skool breaks music genre. His tunes are careful crafted masterpieces of sound which combine the futuristic sense of drum and bass, the experimental twist of electro, the beats from real drummers and drum machines and some relics of sounds from the old skool rave scene to make some fine frantic filth for the dancefloor.
