“Da World Ain’t Ready†is what smoothvega told us at the early age of 17, and it seems as though his premonition was right, following his release of “Unbreakable†in 2004, where he proved to be just that. Infallible and full of confidence, smoothvega is finally set to release his most anticipated independent album yet, “3.10.85.†Prepared to lace the masses with a “whole new sound†that differs from his previous projects, Vega has taken every approach necessary to amp up his album, from constantly blogging on the infamous MySpace, to “Total Pandemonium,†an all age event series that’s broken both attendance and revenue records in an effort to keep aspiring teenagers off the streets, and instead, allowing them to showcase their talents in dance, music and on the turn tables in front of an appreciative audience. This album is sure to demonstrate Vega’s growth as an artist, and a reigning leader in independent sales.
Aiming for greatness, smoothvega has already targeted two consecutive awards for the Fort Worth Weekly’s Best Rap/R&B Artist in both 2006 and 2007, and with the support of his hometown, he’s also managed to gain the respect and rhymes of successful artists such as Chino XL on the track, “Walk with Me,†as well as Crooked I, Royce Da 5’9, Sinful, and more recently, Houston’s own-Lil’ Flip on the well-received track, “Joyride.†And that’s exactly what this journey has been for Vega, and now this ride has put him in a position that’ll release his record on a national level, making him a national success, but it doesn’t stop there.
