Southern Kappin’ Soldiers consists of 2 members C2Six and Yung Monsta, a pair of dynamic rap artists that bring a unique and exciting style to the table and a revitalization to the world of hip-hop.
Hip-hop has always been rooted in the assertion of an artist’s rights to speak their peace. “Making music gives the freedom to express one’s self, vent frustration and let others know what you stand for – or just to have fun,†according to SKS. These artists are staunch supporters of freedom of speech, a vital element in a vital artistic culture. In addition, SKS recognizes the necessity of this free expression in order to set up unfettered communication with others, which is the ultimate point of music of any genre. “It also allows you to connect with others that feel the same way you do. Having that connection with people who can relate to your experiences and that stand for the same ideas is very satisfying and uplifting.†Ultimately, it boils down to ignoring industry expectations and doing music that is self-satisfying, says SKS. “Make music that suits you. The new SKS Album “Stop Light Muzik†will feature Bizzy Bone of Bone Thugs N Harmony, Sen Dog of Cypress Hill, Cynikal 3000, Smoothvega, and others with the bulk of production done by Certified Bangerz. SKS’s previous release, “The Album,†featured Cynikal 3000, Capone of Latino Jam Records, Twin Beredaz and Grimm of Dope House Records. Following the release of the upcoming “Stop Light Muzik†album, SKS will hit the road on a south/southwest tour. In fact, SKS has shared the stage with Ludacris, Fat Joe, Lil Jon and the East Side Boys, Three 6 Mafia, SPM, Baby Bash, Lil Rob, Mellow Man Ace, Crooked I, Chino XL, Dyablo, Chingo Bling, Juan Gotti, Capone, Big Pokey and many, many more. “For those of you not familiar with SKS,†according to C2Six and Yung Monsta, “our music is gangsta, it’s Latin, it’s Southern, it’s real, it’s unique – but most of all it’s enjoyable.
