B eing a professional musician and composer, Steve O'Connel works in very wide styles range, but some of his songs was not used in any projects he participated. With time became clear, that all those songs shares striking resemblance - each represents a delicate mixture of refined ethnic melodies, based on classical harmonies, mesmerizing trip-hop rhythm and typically progressive-rock structures. The necessity of amalgamation of these pieces in a brand new project became obvious. But what king of project is it going to be?
T ogether with Mike Nova - guitarist, sound designer and producer - it was deceided to make a guitar art-rock project, added with some electronics. Steve also joined Mike's love/alternative band Mushmellow, but time has passed, and Steve's "celtic prog" still did not reshaped into something definite. Something was missing. And a meeting with one more person has finally set the project about real working.
I n 2006, in the day of summer solstice, the line-up gained its completeness with Emily A. Saaen, a brilliant singer, who offered conception for the future album, immediately wrote lyrics and recorded vocal parties for the first song (written in the morning of the same day by Steve, inspired with her voice). Emily also has invented the band name Aeolight.
N ow Steve, Mike and Emily are recording the first Aeolight's album, wich is going to be finished in October-2007. Some exclusive versions for a few compilations are also being prepared, and some very exclusive material is going to be available only through the web - promo-mixes, radio versions and other musicians remixes.
