The Textbook Break-up

Impact Imminent

About Me

The Textbook Break-up are a four-piece alternative band from Gosport, Hampshire.
Originally starting life as a bit of a giggle between Mike (guitar) and Joe (drums), the band saw an array of bassists come and go along with many different names for the band including Floating Voter, Pornographic Wallpaper and much more silly bollocks of the like.
When Shorty joined the band on bass guitar in 2004 the band started writing for their first EP. Practicing in the Dugout Studios, Fareham and scrapping many, many songs the band built up their debut four-track EP 'A World Divides'.
In late 2005/early 2006, Jab (guitar) was incorporated into the band and started to learn the band's already established songs. For a while the band played open mike nights at the Railway Inn in Gosport whilst Jab was hard at work learning not-so-complex riffs and generally chilling out. Band Members: Mike (guitar, warbling), Jab (guitar, standing still), Shorty (bass, also warbling, greedy fills), Joe (drums, being gormless, drooling).
Influences: Mainly influenced by what we hear on the day that sounds a wee bit good. Contrary to popular belief we do not like Converge. Why do people keep saying this. Nor is our singer remotely Davey Havok. Stop the foolishness.
Sounds Like: Another local band
