Dugout

About Me

The Dugout was started back in July 98 by father and son James and Matt Beckwith. They discovered an unused part of an old Victorian fort that was an ideal starting point for a studio. After a lot of work they opened one rehearsal room, and a control room where recording equipment would be installed. This is where Geoff Webb came in as in house engineer/producer. He was a musician that had done a lot of studio work in the past and had just bought himself a home studio setup. It was suggested that he move into the Dugout as it was the perfect recording environment. The 8 track system was soon upgraded to a full Protools rig and as more bands came to record so more equipment was added until the studio became known for it's professional output. After 4 years Matt left so Geoff took over running the studio as well as doing recording. It soon became apparent that there was a huge demand for rehearsal space so more rooms were built, and as each one became full so another was added. At present the sixth room is almost ready to be opened.
