TransystemV - a pre-production name given to a prototype viral solution to genetic anomalies in Russian infants in the early 1920s, a generation which was suffering from the ongoing effects of undernourishment and extreme poverty. The idea was to inoculate a core group of under-5s with a virus/vitamin hybrid, which could stimulate muscle tissue growth and promote mental and moral strength of character. This core group would then be released into the community, enabling the v-hybrid to spread from child to child - hence transystemV. The project was aborted in the early stages due to the difficulties inherent in controlling such a virus once it was released. The Russian leadership at the time was notorious for it's heavy-handed attempts at social engineering, and the potentially disastrous consequences were alluded to with some humour in Bulgakovs 'The Red Ray', written in
1925.
TransystemV as a band has a similar goal. To spread mental well-being and amoral health through the viral-like dissemination of hook-ridden, byte-size chunks of sound engineering and post-modern vibrating rock music. Like a hotwire to the brain, these songs will awaken the damp enthusiasm for monolithic teen angst laying dormant within all of us. Take off that dullard coat of many cool-heurs and spend time beating your chest to transystemV!
