About Me

Music has always been a passion of mine and was brought up listening to The Stones, Roxy Music, Cream, Bob Marley etc. Queen was the first band I really got in to (even joined their fan club). I was blown away when I saw them on Top Of The Pops doing Seven Seas of Rye and went to see them play Hyde Park in 1976. Every year a Queen album was my best Christmas present!!
By the time I turned 15 I started to listen regularly to John Peel, who turned me on to a whole new spectrum of music and I started going to see live bands. In 1979 saw The Damned at The Electric Ballroom around the time of "Smash It Up" - wow was I scared when the whole crowd erupted in to one mass pogo - and The Clash at the Rainbow, with Misty In Roots, Spear of Destiny and The Members. Use to hang out in Kingston at all the punk shows.
In 1982 I got into glam rock and became a big Hanoi Rocks fan. Use to go to The Pipeline club at Gossips every Tuesday night where I made friends with The Dog's D'amour, The Quireboys etc. My sister, a couple of other friends and myself got together when The Pipeline closed down and ran a club of our own but we would all have way too much fun and not be in a fit state to deal with all the business matters!!
Lived in Hollywood and Venice, California from 1988-91. I had so much fun clubbing at The Scream, Cathouse, English Acid, Bordellos, Coconut Teaser to name a few, seeing 3 or 4 bands a night (Black Cherry, Jetboy, Couch Sluts, Electric Angels, Saigon Saloon, Kills For Thrills, Bang Tango, Motorcycle Boy, etc) and making some really good friends.
When I came back to London I got a proper job, but I still use to go and see lots of grunge/indie bands. I use to love going to the Festivals - what could be better than spending a weekend in a field, watching bands, drinking and hanging out with friends…if the sun shone it was an extra bonus!
I had a daughter in 1997 Maisie who keeps me entertained and am still in the proper job.
