Howard Hopkins/Lance Howard--Horror/Western/Comics Author

About Me

Hi everyone!
My name is Howard Hopkins and I am an author of horror/western/comics fiction with six books now out, as well as numerous published short stories, the most recent appearing in THE SPIDER CHRONICLES with John Jakes (The Spider being that uber violent and trifle psychotic crimefighting pulp hero of the 1930s. I have upcoming Avenger and Captain Midnight tales from them as well).
My novels under my own name include NIGHT DEMONS, GRIMM, THE DARK RIDERS and my short story anthology DARK HARBORS were EPPIE nominated finalists and Fictionwise top five bestsellers. I also write a series for kids (9+) called THE NIGHTMARE CLUB (it's fun for adults, too!) the first called THE HEADLESS PAPERBOY. (Available from Amazon, Barnes & Noble or direct from GP Press via the link below).
My recent trade paperback novel PISTOLERO combines horror and mystery with my second love, which brings me to--
I'm also the author of the 28 Black Horse westerns in hardcover and trade paperback, the most recent being HELL PASS (available from www.amazon.co.uk)
On top of that I write comic book scripts and am a big fan of the pulps, especially Doc Savage, The Avenger and The Shadow. I am the editor/publsiher of Golden Perils, a journal dedicated to those heroes of yesteryear.
I invite you to take a look at my personal website for excerpts, contests and more info about my work. (link below)
And don't forget to check out Chloe's supernatural adventures at The Chloe Files. She's always in some kinda trouble!
