Life may not be the party you hoped for, but as long as you're here you might as well dance!

About Me

I love music and I love to dance, it is my passion and my meditation. I love to travel, within the States as well as around the Globe. I love reading and learning whatever I can. Everything interests me, I can't get enough of life. I have an awesome brother who is my dancing prodigy. I have a circle of close friends who are beautiful and wonderful people. I believe that a few genuine friends are all you need, but if you can find more, awesome! I talk a lot and it is hard to find people who can keep up, but don't be fooled, it is very important to be able to share comfortable silence.

My Interests

TRAVELING!!! quality time with friends, quality time with myself, cuddling, late night conversations, sunsets and sunrises (if I can make it up that early!), photography, printmaking, ceramics, writing, good books: fiction and non, poetry (like Pablo Neruda and Rumi), music, dancing, psychology, philosophy, religion, language, nature, camping, kayaking, scuba and snorkeling, stones and crystals, music festivals, cooking, yoga and meditation, independent films

I'd like to meet:

genuine and positive people!! anyone who is incredibly passionate about music and anyone who loves to dance, read, write, travel; anyone who digs art and nature, anyone who loves to have deep conversations and isn't afraid to talk about the "taboo topics" of religion, sex, and politics. If you are easily offended, you probably shouldn't be my friend. If you love life and you are thoughtful and inquisitive, then we should hang out!

Music:

I love all kinds of music, especially if you can shake your thang to it! I love afrobeats, jazz, funk, underground hiphop (NO RAP!), world, latin, Brazilian, house, breakbeats, drum-n-bass, IDM, and any multilayered complex electronic you can give me, but I'm sure there is so much more music out there that I would enjoy. I really dig Fela Kuti, STS9, Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra, The Chicago Afrobeat Project, The Shins, Yo La Tengo, M.I.A., Gustavo Seratti, Jurassic 5, A Tribe Called Quest, Prefuse 73, Theivery Corporation, Morcheeba, Manu Chau

Movies:

Crash, Volver, Y tu mama tambien, everything by Pedro Almodóvar, El Labarinto del Fauno, The Science of Sleep, Baraka, Labyrinth, The Red Violin, Waking Life, I Heart Huckabess, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Motorcycle Diaries, Donnie Darko, any Zatoichi movies, Love Actually, Monty Python, Kill Bill, Martial Arts flicks, Kevin Smith films, you get the picture

Television:

I try not to watch it too much, but over the years certain things have grown on me: HEROES!!!! Weeds, Scrubs, Sex in the City, That 70's Show, CSI Miami (yes, I love this kinda stuff), Medium, Gilmore Girls, Simpsons (of course!), Family Guy, King of the Hill, Cartoon Network (Adult Swim, Dexter's Lab), National Geographic, Travel Channel, Discovery Channel, I could go on, but I won't.

Books:

anything by Shell Silverstein, Goodnight Moon, anything by Tom Robbins, Paulo Coelho, Thich Naht Hanh, poetry by Pablo Neruda and Rumi, Ender's Game and the three novels that follow by Orson Scott Card, there are so many great books out there I couldn't possibly list them all, so I won't even try

Heroes:

my mom! my Grandma Daisy, any woman who truly respects herself, any man who truly respects women, and any band or Dj that can make me dance 'til I drop.
