My songs evolve very quickly from a variety of sources and often I do not understand exactly what they are about until I have had time to live with them. I used to enjoy making heavily layered recordings but I feel that these days I do not have to have lots of things going on in each song to make them interesting. Less is more, as they say. Although I have been writing music and playing in bands for years, Broken Books has only been a live going concern since early 2007. Bill Hudson (from M62 Godam) has also provided harmonica, conga and recorder parts to a number of songs. I hope you like the songs. .
