La Corriente was born in late summer 2005. It started with a thoughtless moment, as most good things do. Of her accepting a gig without any songs written. The band she was in had to turn down a gig and she thought, why not? I can sing, I can play, I can do it on my own. So after trying her wings during that first year she thought that this was it, this was what she was meant to do. Her fingers became faster, her voice more steady and her confidence grew. Yet she is not complete but close to getting there.
Sadness is not a natural state – it’s just a temporary downfall on the way to some kind of happiness. But it’s a lovely place for inspiration. Recreation. To feel you’re in a life. And somewhere to start from. To something else. Hopefully, La Corriente can be something that floods you away from that sad place, that gives you a moment of breath and the energy you need to bring yourself just a little bit further. So. Hope you will enjoy the ride.
