About Me
.. ..
Layout Pimper.com... And here I Lie began in the fall of 1994, drummer Chris Dalcin and guitarist Noah Yousey decided after much emotional suffering it was time to bring forth a force of miserable darkness that would last for a strong 6 years.
from 94'-96' they demoed out and made a lot of progress on there own instruments, while Chris was still playing bass/singing in Windbreed fulltime, it was a great time for both of them to actually learn there instruments and forge there own style, with out taking any lessons this proved to be a great thing.
Jan of 96' came around and after a few attempts at having a few "stand in" singer's and bassist's , Chris and Noah had decided to get a bit more serious and get a line up together for a studio demo, with out looking too far they actaully gathered there close friends and started rehearsing for the debut release.
After completing "Fields of Hollow Nightfall" a four track 33 minute journey into the emptyness of the heart, the band had completed the live/studio line-up with The Great Sequoia-Keys,Rob Mcallister-bass,Brian Volke-vocals,Noah Yousey-guitar & Chris Dalcin-drums/backing vocals, with Doug White behind the board into his brand new studio the demo was recieved with much of a classic doom/death status some will argue the band never achieved again.
During that time AHIL performed many of shows througout the NY state region, playing with such local heavy wieghts as Within,Shiathus, Lifbleed, Fledging Death, Windbreed, Bughouse, Fuel, Night Conqueres Day & Lethargy, including a new track entitled "From my Window" (featuring Mike Bayusik/Night Conqueres Day) on session keys for this track, it was a part of a massive 3 disc complilation that Watchmen Studios released 1000 ltd.
With just one year under there belts with the mew full band line-up of Mike Pantaleo-bass and recent departure of TGS -keys AHIL signed a one album deal with Bleak Autumn Records, that fall of 97' the band entered Watchmen studios again to record there debut full length CD "Regrets".
"Regrets" clocked out at almost an hour featuring a more progressive, rock ala.Katatonia "Discouraged Ones"sort of feel, more clean vocals, less keys and sparse death vocals, with an unmatchable tight cleaner production, with special guest Leslie Anderson -keys (Thorns of the Carrion,Estuary of Clamity).
Once the album was released in the Spring of 98' AHIL, went on a 5 day mini tour with Doom cult legends Thorns of the Carrion in support of their release, hooking up with such acts on the road as Garden of Shadows & Eden Rot, even landing a nice slot in the Maryland Deathfest 98' playing with such great acts as Rain Fell Within, 40 Days Longing, The Chasm & Dying Fetus.
In the Summerl of 98' Mike Wall replaced singer Brian Volke in the Fall of 98' and recorded a new EP which would be titled "The Lost EP" featuring amazing vocals by Mr. Wall, this brought back them to their more doom/death roots Mike was able to bring back that deep heavyness from the earlier days, with out abandoning the beautiful clean vocals Brian had once brought to the band, with a much more wider variety of style, the band was finally free fomr the restrictions that they had once felt.
Jan of 99' the new EP was just finished, AHIL embarked on another 5 day mini tour throughout Quebec, Canada with Porno Coma, Association Area, at the end of crushing the French speaking cites, such as Montreal, Quebec City, Sherbrooke etc, the band recorded the last show in Montreal for a offcial release through Impaler Records, which also included "The Lost EP" as a bonus.
Shortly after the tour the band began writing again for the next EP which later would be titled "Fucking Dead" three tracks were recorded, but the EP was never released, you can find 2 out of the 3 songs here.
JUNE 2007 Chris Dalcin (founding member) has decided to move back to NY and re-form ...And Here I Lie,after almost 8 years of being split up honestly no one could have seen this one coming, not even the bandmates.
the new line-up so far includes Noah Yousey (Founding Member) Guitar,Chris Dalcin drums/lyrics some vocals Jeremy Zenkar (who was part of the last line-up from 99-2000) at this point the band willl begin writing for a new full length CD and of course a search for a few more members. stay tuned for more Doom News!
