About Me

Ryan has recently completed a four year degree at Birmingham Conservatoire which has provided him with a grounding in jazz piano under the direction of some of the most respected British jazz artists including Liam Noble, Jean Toussaint, Julian Siegel, Arnie Somogyi and Mike Williams. While he was there, he decided to write some compositions for his final year Major Project which reflected his aptitude for music. He created 'The Connection' which is a culmination of five compositions inspired by an array of influences including Herbie Hancock, Dave Holland, Quincy Jones, Lalo Schifrin, 4hero, early Jamiroquai, Horace Silver, Soulive and the likes of film composer David Holmes (among others). The music encapsulates his ethos somewhere within the boundaries of funk and jazz, but with a blend of other musical styles such as Afro-Cuban, Latin and Drum & Bass. Ryan has performed extensively across the country including The Jazz Cafe in Camden, London with 'Funkshone' (www.myspace.com/funkshone) who have also made an appearence on national radio for The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show on Radio 6. He has performed more recently with them as the headlining act for the final night of ExtremSportveko 2008 in Norway. Please check out the video clips -you will not regret it!!! Another band he is currently part of is 'Soul Express' (www.myspace.com/soulexpressband and www.soulexpress.co.uk) who perform regularly at The Jazz Cafe Club Diner in Reading and Dover Street Jazz Club in Mayfair. Ryan is also due to perform at Pinewood Studios with 'The 007's' who perform music from the 21 Bond films. Ryan's ambition is to continue writing, promoting and performing his own music and he hopes someday his music will take him to the places he has written of in his work. He welcomes anyone who shares his passion for music. He would like to thankyou for listening!
