It all began nine years ago when I had what alcoholics refer to as; 'a moment of waking up and smelling the dog shit'. I realised that it was my true calling to cook up some marvellous shit. Until one day I saw Jamie Oliver on the telly, realised how much of a nob he was, and decided to chop up records instead.
This is the bit where people normally talk about themselves as if someone else had written it, so here goes….
I’ve been DJ-in for just under a decade now. I was originally inspired by turntablism, and Hip-Hop, and that’s something I’m still passionate about. But over the years I’ve taken a shit load-a music under me wing such as D’n’B, Breaks, Soul, Funk, Reggae, Broken Beat, Latin, World, Jazzy shit, Dub, Dubstep etc etc…But there are 3 elements that are most prevalent…Beats, Bass, and Soul…All cut and mixed together with a bit-a style, n a sly wit.
I cut my teeth on the Hip-Hop scene in Birmingham in the mid-noughties at club nights such as Heducation. Some of my Turntabling highlights include placing in the final 10, 2 years running of National DJ competition Telegraph DJ 2004 and 2005.
I decided to go back to my Northern roots and I’m now livin in Manchester where you can see me cuttin a rug, or cuttin up some tunes at a number of nights round the city.
I’ve bin producin for about 6 years and I’m still learnin every day. I love fusin sounds and pushin things forward. I hate it when people are conservative and sacred about music, listen to a handful of artists, or think it’s all bin done before. There’s always a new sound round the corner just like everythin else in life that evolves. Right I’m gonna stop there before I sound like a fuckin preacher…
Oh n I'm also a film maker and I'm currently workin the soundtrack for 30 min Gritish Film that I'm also co-direction.
