No one's really got it figured out just yet...

About Me

I got my background from 123backgrounds.com
I've been single so long that I've got it down to a science. I'm not really sure if it's time to try something new or just stick to what I'm good at. But dating can definitely be fun with the right guy.I consider myself low-maintenance in that I don't like to spend a lot of time or money on superficial stuff and I'd rather have an experience than a new "thing." If I've got a choice between a new outfit or a professional massage, massage wins. I'd rather go out to dinner than go shopping (I hate shopping... I said "hate"), but quite often I'd also rather cook something special and share a bottle of wine than go out to a fancy restaurant. (That way you can rave about my cooking.) I don't go to movie theatres. Haven't gone to one in six years. I'd much rather be in the comfort of my own home with my beverages and munchies all laid out on the coffee table where I can hit pause and I don't have to listen to people talking through the whole freakin' movie. I want to go to an outdoor bar and listen to live music. I want to meet the kind of guy who can surprise me with something I haven't done before. I want my guy to rub my shoulders without being asked, just because I look tense. (Saggitarius, stop here. You know you ain't that sensitive.) I want to spend an entire Sunday watching football (NFL... not big on college) either at a sportsbar or on the couch. Actually, I want to do that every Sunday. And I don't want you to have the same team as I do. I like the competition. I want to have a regular tennis date once a week. Okay, if I say "I want" one more time, I'm going to roll my own eyes. I'm very well acquainted with my inner four-year-old and know when to go for what I want and when to go with the flow. Look for me in the kitchen... I'll be the one with my hand in the cookie jar. (Don't take it personally if you send an unsolicited friend request and I don't add you. I'm not a "friend collector" as it reeks of high school popularity contests, and I'm just now getting over that.)

My Interests

Running, going to the gym, reading, writing, psychology, nutrition, tennis, dance.

I'd like to meet:

I only have two requirements of the people I spend my time with: don't lie to me, and do what you say you're going to do. The latter tends to trip people up, so if you're flaky and you know it, pass on by. =) I'm looking for someone with some level of maturity and education who also likes to have fun and can trade jokes with the best of them. I have a deeply twisted sense of humor and can watch South Park for hours. I also love a deep, philosophical coversation that dives into a topic and rolls around in it until it's all covered in muck, but doesn't have to solve anything. A good debate just for the sake of debate is fine by me, as long as we both know it's just brain exercise and we don't get all caught up in trivialities like being "right." On a professional level, I'm an editor/agent who is currently taking on new clients. (I specialize in fiction, but do not do sci-fi or fantasy.) I'm not looking for folks who have simply started a novel and abandoned it two chapters in and are now looking for someone to reassure them that their writing is worthy of the paper it would require to publish it. Rather, I'd like to connect with the kind of people who work hard at their craft and who simply need an editor to polish and perfect their work, or an agent to market it to publishers and negotiate a favorable contract. As far as editing, I would consider "in-progress" work under rare circumstances, but it's best for all involved if the book is at least close to being finished. If not, a detailed outline is definitely necessary. Contact me directly regarding editing rates or with any other questions pertaining to editing or agency, (but please do not send a friend request).

Ok good people, worry not, I will not be posting the entire novel, in whole or in part.  I just need some feedback on a few things from time to time, especially from my beloved "reader" friends. ...

The Unhappiest Place on Earth

Upon leaving this particular store today, the title came to me, and while not terribly clever or original, it still demanded the story to support it.  (Can't have a title with no story....

Who ARE you people?? (rant)

There's no connection anymore!  And I, for one, am pissed off about it.  It's a complete rip-off!  People aren't willing to be themselves anymore, and how, then, might they ever be able...
