My Interests

My main interests are family, friends, music, food, humor, and feline millinery.

I'd like to meet:

Stewart Copeland, Ringo, Elvis Costello, Warren Buffet, Jimmy Buffett, Robert Bradley, Neil Finn, Peter JacksonI can now take Steve Ripley off my "Like to Meet" list as I had the pleasure of meeting him in Tulsa recently. He's a real gentleman, and it was very cool to actually meet the guy who has such great music, and tells wonderful stories about music and musicians.

Music:

Admiral Twin is Number 1. I enjoy searching for new, often independent, artists. Other favorites include David Mead, Dave Lon, Guster, Pugwash, The Tractors, Steve Ripley, and Timothy Monger. Long term...The Beatles, Crowded House (and Neil and Tim Finn), Squeeze, Elvis Costello, The Police, Jellyfish, and many many more. And Admiral Twin again.

Movies:

so many... Everything from Casablanca and the Hitchcock films to the LOTR trilogy and Napoleon Dynamite. Lately I enjoy the odd indie films more than mainstream cinema, but I'm still a sucker for a romantic comedy.

Television:

I don't watch too much (other than movies), but I do like Monk, Boston Legal, The Office, House and 24. And the Food Channel. Hmm, maybe that is a lot.

Books:

I like variety. Douglas Adams books, Kurt Vonnegut, Carl Hiassen, Elmore Leonard, Sue Grafton, John D. MacDonlad, P.G. Wodehouse, Jasper Fforde, biographies, and owner's manuals for small appliances.

Heroes:

Mongo (my husband) and my three kids.

The phenomenon of texting is puzzling to me.   When it is possible for us to have interpersonal contacts with audio and video so readily, why would people fall back to an archaic communicati...
