Zamuros Way... is my 1st script and I’ve been trying to produced this film for a long time... and now we’re just very closed to our dreams... 1/2 film - 1/2 movie Mr. QT... The script is built around foreign characters evolving during a journey in a Venezuela unseen in movie screens... The universe of roads...

Once upon a time, Enrique, a hired killer, assassinates the drug Lord, Diaz Ceballos... Alfonso, Ceballos’ son, sends his men to enrique’s pursuit. In his flight, he meets Lucia, an europen who come to the country to settle her accounts with her husband, Bernard. After a shooting in a gas station, Lucia discovers Enrique’s real identity. Using her weapon, she pressures him to accompany her to carry out her vengeance.
Zamuros Way received the prize of Development in Cinematic Projects from the Venezuelan film commission, the CNAC (Centro Nacional Autonomo de Cinematografia) in 2004.

INTENTION’S NOTE :
I like watching the vultures flying. The way they raise towards the heights to then glide during hours. See them arising on a building antenna, patiently, looking for death, to exercise their cleaner function.
When we began to write the screenplay, they were only a local reference, but they were transformed into a symbol, man’s metaphor, the being that live by feeding on the death. Spirits fed by the non-life, by the waste.
Under this searching glance of the vulture, we find men and women who spend their life without nor legality or certain morality. Naughty boys, innocents, culprits, criminals, always in expectation of the other ones end. In their side, the justice, spinal column of a society. Non-existent justice, as vultures, observes and feeds in contradiction.
This film shows truths, a world of dishonest people that carry their conflicts, their wickedness and their virtues.
A unique exit: love, what explains Lucia and Enrique.
Beyond the presence of an action and adventure movie, Zamuros tells cycles of life which repeat mercilessly.
Even if the characters of Zamuros are issus from the fiction, I saw a lot roaming on this earth. In that case, all without exception belong to the dark side.
She is the demand, the beauty, the anger and the surprise.
He is the unforeseen, the adventure, the seduction and the death.
Bernard is the treason and the lie.
Alfonso has the sick madness of the power, the drug, the unconsciousness and the crime.
The policemen are the sick, collusive and sterile justice.
We meet characters that belong to a world varied by values and by experiences. In this sense, Zamuros is enriches of anonymous beings who shall allow me to show an existential microcosm and to travel in a universe of surprises.
The work with the actor begins from our first meeting, by discovering the possibilities of each and in the confrontation actor-director.
I am against the idea of a hermetic concept. The impressions that the actor has of his character, what surrounds him and the feelings that ensue from it, are fundamental elements for a definitive approach with the spectator.
Zamuros is performs with spaces that its structure of road movie stress and what attracts me, its their narrative complicity.
For example: its not the same to see Lucia injecting in the room of her apartment in Paris, that in a lost hotel in the middle of nowhere land. There are two ways of seeing this and in this sense the dramatic moment acquires the dimension that our film needs. The wide shots cut on characters closed up, the detail of a hand which squeezes a weapon, the moss which falls slowly of a lizards mouth, etc., print a rhythm and a particular relation with the space. It is necessary to penetrate into the relation character-spaces intimacy, to respect the meaning freedom of the actor with what surrounds him.
The centring according to the stage setting needs is also a part of our speech. It is not the product of a unique aesthetic appreciation, but on the contrary my interpretation of the dramatic necessity. The centring is not thus a furtive fact, but the result of a reflection of all the parts.
I imagine a photography contrasted with a work of the colors range in monochrome black and white. Forget a little the image realism and wash certain colors. The blue of the sky that bursts and his transforming into a gradation of brilliant whites those get lost, in search of an emotional intensity. If I can it allow myself, I shall bet on a mixture between Seven (David Fincher) and Kings of the Desert (David O. Russel).
The music has a very important place in Zamuros. The story itself brings us particular tones of the region, situated in the movie development: the radio, the crossroads, the village, the party, etc. I steered TV movies, funny series, documentaries, advertisements, and I always tried, according to the resources, to build of coherent musical elements with the story.
Zamuros inspires me to work with very varied elements. Typical seductive sounds as Jagger, until the obscurantism of Massive Attack, accompanied with sounds which are appropriate for me as Latin American. I believe that the result is going to depend on the rhythm, on the intensity, the feelings and the work of stage setting where the contribution of the musician is fundamental.
By speaking about the music I also include the soundtrack of the film.
Frogs and crickets in the deep nights, the ground which splits by the heat, the bodies in contact, the wind, the bead of sweat which flows looking forward to an action. They are essential, specific and vital complements, to make a success of a harmony of the whole.
My objective as Zamuros director is to make a coherent product success, of an action movie and magic adventure (in the sense of its seduction capacity). A film which connects from the beginning with the spectator feelings and which made them live this strange and violent world, but with an infinite beauty.
Enrique says that the death is always the same and that only the life can be different. I hope to make with Zamuros of life experience success that satisfy completely the public desires and my aspiration as an artist.
