I am who I am

About Me

"About me:" if you want a real idea, be prepared to invest time. I believe that I strive for feminine elegance, but I simply cannot fit in this box. Verbs probably do me more justice than adjectives or nouns; I absorb, empathize, appreciate, love, feel with and for, reflect, seek resonance and reverberation, translate... It wouldn't be inaccurate to say that I am rather comfortable in the gray areas, to say nothing of working the gray matter. G-d is in the details, and I am in the subtleties, the parts that tickle and tingle. I'm still young, though I have always felt either timeless/ageless or old. While I've spent most of my life care-taking, pleasing, and attending to others, the last few years have blessed me with a greater revelation: taking care of, pleasing, and tending to myself (and in so doing am better able to give of myself to others). The greatest gift of my life has been learning to fall in love with myself, and the trip has been even greater than the fall. The road of progress is infinitely better than the road to perfection, and life is more pleasant when I continue along the former rather than the latter. And I *do* love to drive, just like my parents always promised me I would.
Life dreams... To live life fully, happily, and to enjoy it for all the glory it is. To develop, grow, love, bloom. Help others to shine. To be a stunning example of my aspirations to goodness. To be loved honestly, respectfully, selflessly, unconditionally; to be loved the way I love.

My Interests

LEARNING, reading, talking/connecting/relating, watching movies, traveling, walking, shopping, writing, riding my bike, photography, art... Children, development, psychology... Cats... The feminine, women, beauty... Language(s), translation, culture(s), psychology, science and technology, (international) politics, business, research, industrial supplies... Life and everything it has to offer!

I'd like to meet:

E V E R Y O N E ... At least once. People fascinate me. The spark of life is in each of us, and each person brings us closer to something greater. We all have so much to learn and share - and thus to grow...

Music:

Metal, alternative, rock as categories... G-dsmack, Metallica, Rob Thomas, Linkin Park, Dido, Stone Temple Pilots, Jack Johnson, Dave Matthews Band, Live, Carlos Jones, Aerosmith, Madonna, Staind, Bon Jovi, Matchbox Twenty, U2, Nickelback, Creed, Velvet Revolver... I like things that move, things you can dance and play to, have fun with.

Movies:

Comedy, drama, sci-fi, action-adventure... Well-written, entertaining, thought-provoking, fun, artfully directed... Pirates of the Caribbean, A River Runs Through It, Matrix, Legally Blonde, Walk The Line, Hitch, Big Fish, The Princess Bride, Dogma, The Thomas Crown Affair, Second-Hand Lions, Last of the Mohicans... There are so many...

Television:

I used to watch TV a lot, growing up, then was a huge fan of The X-Files, Law & Order, CSI, 24, Will & Grace, Malcolm in the Middle, Northern Exposure... Of course, I grew up watching quality classics like The A-Team, Knight Rider, MASH, AirWolf, MacGyver, The Muppet Show, The Smurfs, Nancy Drew, The Greatest American Hero, Inspector Gadget... But after I went to Russia, I was broken of television, having been deprived of it for four-and-a-half months. I've never turned on the TV that came with this apartment...

Books:

Yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes!

Heroes:

When I am healthy in mind and spirit, I know that everyone has at least some hero in them and I try to find those nuggets. My maternal grandmother is one person I have always wanted to be like; as a person, a woman, she is strong, independent, and I love the way she thinks about, understands, and sees the world. She's amazing and beautiful. She has the most wonderful spark of life.
