Border Roots is very thankful for another year and sees 2008 as another prosperous year in terms of bringing more Reggae to the US/Mexico Border. Things have gotten off to a great start with being asked to produce the International Arts Walk theme song for El Paso/Ciudad Juarez. The record features some of El Paso's top musicians such as Marty Olivas, Billy Townes and Ricky Malichi. Border Roots front man Mark Moses wrote the theme song and signifies that things are still moving forward. Mark Moses has also been tapped by southern california Reggae artist Jah Mex for a wicked collaboration of an original Border Roots song. So big things going on with the Border Roots. Since 1999, El Paso has come to know and love this Chicano based Reggae band. Fronted and founded by Mark Moses Alvarado, The Border Roots Sound is the veteran sound in the area. Mark Moses holds a standing career as a Reggae stage singer for 18 years dating back to his early days in his home town Santa Barbara, Calif. Before that he was a radio dj on FM 91.9 KCSB and before that was blessed to see and hear live Reggae concerts from the giants in the business like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, Culture, Third World, Robbie & Sly, Burnng Spear, Countless Reggae Sunsplash tours and many many other top artist from Jamaica and Africa.Border Roots has worked with many international reggae artist from Culture to Lucky Dube and Eek A Mouse to Big Mountain.
