The Voice Of Hotel Rwanda

About Me

Dorothee Munyaneza

Dorothee Munyaneza is a young Rwandan singer who gained worldwide exposure following her film music debut on the soundtrack of the 2004 feature film " Hotel Rwanda" and her subsequent collaboration with the Grammy-nominated Afro Celt Sound System as a guest on their most recent Real World Records release "Anatomic".

She is currently developing a solo project with producer and Afro Celt Sound System member Martin Russell, which is progressing well and is due for completion and release during 2008. Check in again soon to hear, see and read about this exciting project as it progresses!

Dorothee's passion is social integration through music and the arts - her goal is eventually to be able to start school for art, dance and music in Rwanda, helping children and young people to grow up with an enduring love of music and each other. Currently based in London, she has travelled extensively throughout Europe with The Jonas Foundation as a singer, dancer, percussionist and actress, and has recently sung and acted in Europe with Francois Verret's dance company in a touring production of "Sans Retour". She has taken part in fundraising events for "Terre des Hommes", performed as a soloist at a charity concert for "Chain of Hope" at the Royal Overseas League, performed at the 2006 Geneva Movement for Peace convention, and at the 2006 Inauguration of the Commission for Human Rights at the Geneva UN Palace.
