Started life out playing in bands as a guitarist...way back in the day when amps were powered by wind-up generators that had to be filled with petrol after every 3 songs....its amazing how technology has progressed over the years!!! Decided to switch to sax about 5 or 6 years ago when the prospect of spending the rest of my life playing in cover bands filled me with terror...i know there a lot of good cover bands out there...just wasnt what i was into playing...thought if i was gonna play covers may as well teach myself saxophone...learn a few jazz standards... and that way still have room to improvise and keep a degree of originality. That plan came to a sudden end when a chance meeting with Scotty resulted in me attending a Big Big Sound show at the Art Bar and auditioning for a place in the band as tenor sax player. Since then i've never looked back and in all honesty...i gotta say that this is the best band i've ever played in ( thats £20 you owe me Scott !! ).
