About Me

i am my own spoon song. i'm a lawyer and a gamer. i'm a romantic at heart but a cynic by trade. i wish on falling stars and curse like a sailor. i'm tenacious and passionate. i LOVE adventure, fairy tales and the unknown. i like being right but really dig being proven wrong.
i had to quit writing poetry for three years in law school because i found i couldn't make the right side of my brain work while "thinking like a lawyer." since then, i've managed to puzzle-piece together the two sides of my personality and they live together inside my brain in an unhappy, but well-maintained, truce.
i make plans, like constant new-years-resolutions, to keep myself sharp. this month i'm rock-climbing, mountain biking, and learning absolutely everything i can about the multi-faceted enigma that is stefan. i desire to be challenged. i work hard and have been told i'm a bit type-A in my work expectations. but if i can sleep in until noon on a sunday, i consider it a weekend well spent.
i laugh when i'm frightened and cry when i'm relieved. i also laugh when i'm happy so, granted, it can be confusing.
i'm rebuilding a life from scratch out here in Colorado and, boy, do people live better in the wild wild west. there aren't enough hours in the day for rock climbing, hiking, backpacking, skiing, two-stepping, camping, line dancing, pub quizzing, LOTROing, paragliding, movie watching, mountain biking, music listening, white water rafting, cuddling with Stefan...i find myself a more active person, a more discerning individual, a much more loving and open woman. life is a fucking miracle and i'm making sure i take the time to embrace it!

skiing powder on great powder skis, sighting potential in the stars, books that need a dictionary in the back, learning my way around a kitchen, finding the perfect lyrics and musical accompaniment for a mood, outdoor escapism, moments of companionship so profound my teeth ache, heading off with no direction but lots of hope, good conversations in bad diners, the inner seven-year-old gamer geek inside us all, fitting silly net vernacular into work emails and passing the habit on to my coworkers, unintentional romantic moments, electronic gadgetry, facing my fears and kicking their ass, the beauty of chivalry and honor, driving very fast to very loud music with the top down, faeries, rain but only sometimes, laughing after an uncomfortable silence, arguing, the smell of vanilla or strawberry, talking until dawn, figuring out what makes wireless mice work, the high drama of online message boards, sweaty cloths upon completing a strenuous hike, the transcendental look of the ground from afar, snuggling under warm covers on a cold morning, most things goth, wind chimes on windy days and the attendant feeling that somewhere a dream just came true, birth stones, graphic design, solitary beaches, tickle of fingers running over my back, my ridiculous collection of lost iPods, blue felt tip pens
