London based dj/ producer CODE, is firmly established on the drum and bass circuit and better known as one half of SKETCH & CODE. With over ten years experience, seven of that concentrating on production and sixty something tracks released, he is now going back to his roots, focusing more on djing and performing.Code has been involved in the music industry since the mid 90’s working at Ignition Musik, dealing with the press and promotion before moving on, to be label manager at pioneering breakbeat label Mechanoise. These positions also gave him access to the labels recording studios where he first caught the production bug and was introduced to Jess Lelong aka Sketch.He originally made his name playing for legendary promoters such as World Dance, AWOL, Telepathy and Desire, alongside the biggest names the scene had to offer. He has played for most of the pirate radio stations you would expect, such as Kool FM etc and currently hosts his Thursday Night Session show on Drum n Bass Worldwide. Now continuing production on his own and collaborating with artists such as Sketch, Cogee and ADM, Code is once again enjoying the freedom that comes with being a solo artist.He has worked for many promoters around the world and one of his first international bookings was to headline AWOL in Toronto (Canada) on Boxing Day many years ago. This gig led to repeat bookings and several tours of North America, including a couple arranged to promote his releases on Canadian label Furious. He has played all over the UK and toured most of Europe, while continuing to release music through both established and new labels.In the studio, opportunities have led to a number of vocal projects, incorporating the talents of The Ragga Twins, Cogee and Flipside, as well as a few remix contributions for MC Det's Times Two imprint with tracks by the label boss himself, Skibadee and Shabba. He has also worked with singers and session musicians to help create many original compositions over the years.
