ABOUT MUSIC EVENTS
Carmen Jaimes Aldave was born in Lima, Perù in 1982. She was just 10 years old when she emigrated to Rome. As a youth, Carmen spent a lot of her time travelling and assimilating different cultures. She grew up heavily influenced by Latino-American and Italian culture. At 18 years old she went to New York. She learned the blueprint of the hip-hop business and quickly discovered the art of organizing quality performances, concerts, and all audiovisual events.
She was inspired by that atmosphere and decided to study Fine Arts at the Department at RomaTre University (www.dams-roma3.it).
Simultaneous with her studies, she began collaborating with RealVibes, a partnership of events organization (www.realvibes.it). They worked with the FreakFriday project, a successful one night event, in one of the most noted clubs of Rome, LA SAPONERIA (www.saponeriaclub.it). The season 2004/2005 at Saponeria was full of popular Djs and artist performances such as Kanye West, Camp-Lo, Nina Sky, Dj Cutkiller, Dj Camilo, Dj Kool, and Maseo from De La Soul.
She also worked with the artistic production of Fiesta 2005, the biggest Latino-American music festival that takes place every summer in Rome (www.fiesta.it). Here, Carmen learned the organization and management strategies for this huge event. Fiesta 2005 gave her the most important practical knowledge on the sector.
Carmen participed in the first edition of the RomeFilmFest.
She has recently worked for the Festival of Lima '07's organization, one of the most prestigious film festival in South America and she was also involved in the RomeFilmFest 2007.
