Heroes:

my mom. she is goofy and quirky and creative almost to the point of eccentricity and i love every second of it. her nose crinkles like mine when she laughs. she has a nervous tick that is beautiful to me. she is bull headed. she is feisty. she is loving almost to a fault. when she sings she loses herself in the act and it makes the hair on my arms stand on end. she is my best friend. she has shown me what it means to be not only a strong woman but also a strong person. my dad. he is not only my definition of what a good man is, but of what a good human being is. he has taught me so strong an empathy that it's often painful. he's hilarious. he's an amazing storyteller. he talks and cuddles with his cats. people are captivated by him. he's feisty. he's bull headed. his eyes turn into little crescent moons like mine when he laughs. he has shown me what it means to be compassionate. i aspire to achieve his humility and goodness. i am a very fortunate girl indeed. i never, ever, for even a minute feel as though i am not loved.
