Greatness is seldom sought by artists in the music industry today. This leaves record labels and industry executives saturated with artists not striving to be the very best. And then there was Skyscrapa the man the myth the legend. Born William Richardson Skyscrapa or "Scrape" as his friends call him, is a major player in the midwest music scene. Straight out of Columbus Ohio, Scrape fell in love with music at the early age of 8 after nonstop listening to babyface and keith sweat by his mother as she cleaned the home. It didn't take him long to realize this is what he wanted to do. With his clear and straightforward voice Skyscrapa decided to rap at the age of 14, after heavy influence by The Notorious B.I.G and Tupac Shakur. It didn't take him long to succeed. Skyscrapa built it in his head that he was the best and that nobody was better than him so at the age of 16 he began to enter rap battles to prove himself as an emcee. The streets of columbus were in awww by the way he destroyed his competition. He was invited to columbus' ..1 Hip Hop and R@B radio station 107.5 wckx for freestyle friday a weekly battle where listeners called in and voted on who was the better emcee. What happened? How about 6 consecutive wins. He got retired after the wins and after a droppage in ratings when he left, was invited back to defend his throne. This cemented him as the best columbus had to offer, but he wasn't satisfied. Skyscrapa realized that battles weren't the way to make it so he stopped freestyle battles and started creating music. From the ages of 18 through 22 skyscraper entered numerous talent competitions, placed first in every single one, and was even invited to open for Jay z and Fifty cent in front of 15,000 people, hearing all those fans cheering his name was priceless. Now at age 24 Skyscrapa has started his own music company Skyline Entertainment and has decided to take his destiny in his own hands. People can't walk down the streets of Columbus and meet anyone who doesn't know or has not heard of the man they call Scrape.
