Live and direct from da bottom of Baltimore City in Cherry Hill resides Cutty; the Real N***A/ Hustler/ Rapper/ Producer. He remains focused on his day to day life and reppin’ his hood to the fullest. Hence the name of his first mixtape: "CHP Mixtape Vol. 1". CHP stands for Cherry Hill Projects if you aint know! "I gotta hold it down for my family and all my n****as and b****es u hear me! At the end of the day I'm coming back to the Hill to lay my head and this is the only home I've had for the past all my life (laughs). This is me and what I know. This is for my daddy and my n***as who aint with us no more. I told them n***as I was goin’ shine for them and that's what I’m a do u hear me! I got all n***as here and gone!" says Cutty.
He seems focused enough to lock his city down. Releasing his first mixtape; he is already has 3 more on reserve. He grinds hard and relentlessly to perfect his craft. He said, "Writing and recording songs is like breathing to me you know. I'm a real human being so I go through things just like the next person! So I got a lot to talk about and I wear my heart on my sleeve like it's a fashion statement and it aint (laughs). So when I get inside my booth, that's my zone and I zone out u heard me. I put a whole lot of feeling into my recordings. This is my life, I go through all that sh*t I be recording, that's me! I don't listen to a lot of these guys in the city because it don't feel rite. It feel like it's a lie, like the sh*t they be rapping aint real. Like it's certain things that you would mention and say if you really been in them situations. So I can make songs about all my daily events, whether I was right or wrong. That's why in a week my catalogue gets even bigger (laughs)."
"People always ask me how I started rapping. I started writing poetry at six. I was in the first grade in school when there was a slogan contest about stopping violence and drug use in our community. And man when I was growing up, sh*t just seemed worse to me then than it do now. I mean the things I saw just f**ked my head up. I guess it was because I was young at the time and it seemed new to me like this is what goes on in my hood. Damn! But I won that contest and met the mayor and some other politicians at that time. I also got on the front page of the Sun; so I been used to fame n***a! So I started seeing the impact words can have on our lives and I never looked back. Here I am now n***as, coming to make sh*t right in the city boy!†says Cutty.
It's obvious this dude can give everyone what they need to hear. He spits from the heart on tracks such as "Blind 2 Tha World" and "Real Sh*t" about his life and things that his peers may also seemed troubled with. But then he makes a song such as "They Luv Me". “Females are one of my main things in my life. I love a woman. I love women! So you already know I got songs for my bad b****es u hear me! If y'all reading this rite now just know that I love all y'all." says Cutty. The mixtape has a myriad of street bangers and lyrical tracks, proving that at 21 he is a veteran in the booth.
Expect big things in the near and distant future from Cutty! Hands down I have an early version of the mixtape; and I have to say that things are looking up for the young MC. Sept. 09 will be a day of reckoning for Mr. Cutty Wut. Will the world understand his struggles and joys? The only way to find out is if you cop the tape for yourself!
