Biography:
Born in Athens/Greece right before the 90's and joined the industry a couple of years after the 00's, Helena Koursou is today known for her very early age involvement in music, design and media. Holding tough influences of underground music under her belt starting from all forms of rock and ending to the waves of electronica, you can be surprised of how alternatively she can export her sound taste through spinning music! Better known as Helen K, she hasn't stopped serving series of dj sets, radio shows and finally, tunes, including her own vocals or lyrics.
Helen K has performed live at gigs in Greece and abroad, in worldwide radios as a host and a guest and has released/scheduled her own music in fine labels within the field, being it vinyl, cd or mp3 format. Radio shows she has been heard from, would certainly be her own, previously, on Friskyradio.com and Protonradio.com, while also Anna Maria X's Weekend Mix on Best 92.6 FM and Muscle K's Dance Nation on 94 FM. Highlights of her discography certainly constitute her very first mix cd compilation "Dub Till Dawn" released alongside Greece's Freeze magazine and her outstanding vocal track "Get The Groove", having it featured on CDs of NRG Records and Universal Music in Greece as well as in playlists of top radio stations across the country. As well as more followed, like collaborations with Mike Brin, Dan Welton, Federico Epis and Emanuel Phaz. This was a start of something great, proving her quality towards the crowd.
Though art wasn't limited only to music for Helena. Besides the fact that she has been very active within media and participated in magazines like Partysan Greece and Freeze, she has also content-directed for online portals such as Thecityvibe.com (part of Globalvibe Network). Above all, she has been spending most of her lifetime on pencils, papers, color and computers, drawing and designing non-stop; a fact that encouraged her to get professionally involved with graphic design and visual arts, moving to the next level with a direct scholarship in Middlesex University of London and been living and breathing in United Kingdom ever since. You will probably wonder if that girl will ever show any signs of slowing down.
