Riot At The Garden

The Most Violent Wrestling Bout In Old School History

About Me

I am Riot At The Garden and I am a book. I was originally released by writer Dale Pierce, back in 1979, and how I am able to type this blog without hands, being a book and all, is a mystery to me. I am, however, doing it.I told a brief history of the old Phoenix Madison Square Garden in Arizona, with special emphasis on two tag teams, The Comancharos (known as The Hells Angels in the East) and Ben Justice & Pancho Pico. Within my walls these four fools worked a bout that got so bloody and out of control, the fans rioted, resulting in a massive fight between spectators and workers. They wanted heat and man, they got it.In any case, I was sold at matches in other venues and had some good sales, but was never reprinted. Even the bastard who wrote me didn't think of keeping a copy for himself. Dumb of him! Jabroni idiot! I could tell you all kinds of things about him.Anyway, I might have faded from view forever, had Tim Hicks, a referee and sheetwriter, not come up with the brainstorm of reprinting me, to sell me to a whole new crowd of smart marks and historians. Now did the guy who wrote me, for whatever reason, really care? Hell, no. He even told the guy to print them up at his expense if he wanted to, market them and just give him a cut. He didn't think I would sell. "People don't give a damn about the old Garden and what happened there any more," he said. "We are a dying breed and that era is gone forever," he added. Dumb of him! I can't believe he is a writer. Time Traveling son of a bitch! But then he didn't count on the Garden being torn down, which provoked public outrage in Phoenix and suddenly made me a hot draw again.Thank you, asshole politicians in Phoenix. If not for you, maybe the one who wrote me would have been right. At $10.00 some of you may say I am an expensive product, but shut your smark ass up and listen for a minute. The writer gets fifty cents or so per copy as all and the publisher covers expenses. The rest goes into a fund for the older and retired wrestlers in Arizona, helping them with medical expenses and with costs to travel to the oldtimer reunion every year as most of them didn't make a fortune like the WWE people today. So buy me already. You need me in your wrestling library. All you old goats might find something nostalgic about me to love and all you new smarks just might find something new to learn.Orders may be found at http://www.riotatthegarden.comAlso visit http://www.azwrestlinglegends.com for another look at some of the wrestlers who appeared in this arena. There will also be a good amount of merchandise related to The Time Traveler, Cowboy bob Yuma, Tito Montez, Jody Arnold, The Lumberjacks, Barbara Starr and more, which again goes to the Oldtimer Fund. This is no work. For you new guys, it might be a change in pace.Incidently, I was written in the era of kayfabing, so I treat the business as a shoot. If you don't like it, too bad. That was the way things were back then. There is also direct distribution from Lulu and an ebook whichc osts less to download. Simply go to http://www.lulu.com and log the name of Dale Pierce into the search. It will come up.

My Interests

The old Phoenix Madison Square Garden and the bloody feud between the Pico/Justice and Comancharo teams.

I'd like to meet:

People who will buy me.I mean, what the hell do you think I'd want!I'm a book, remember. I want to be bought and read! And if you are visiting, you might want to check out the photo gallery up here, with some photos of people dealt with in the text. See the pics section.

Music:

I'm a book. I don't listen to music. And I lied about my age and birthdate too as I am not into this profiling shit. Never give out too much info on the net, they say!

Movies:

Hey if someone wants to use me as the basis for a documentary, I imagine the asshole who wrote me will be all ears. And he thought the reprinted edition would not sell. Haaaaaa!

Television:

See notation in movies. I would take being made into a tv documentary.

Books:

Riot At The Garden. Hey, I have a bigger ego than HHH, and I'm just a book.

Heroes:

The Comancharos versus Ben Justice & Pancho Pico. Plus others as well. For information on some of them, see the link at http://www.myspace.com/phxmsg or just go to the friends section and hit the little picture of the arena, which is easier to do.
