About Me

An Artist from the city of Oakland CA, Kahlil's music blurs the boundary lines of distinctions between hip hop & rap taking it back to it's essence of self expression, relentless creativity and artistic uniqueness. Through his guerrilla recording techniques Kahlil transports the listener to a realm hard hitting rhythms, addictive melodies and self-reflective lyrics. Kahlil has appeared on numerous independent releases. His first full length release, Moonrocks (self titled), was a collaborative of words and production along with producer partner Bicasso. His second release Europa 2000 was recorded during a Moonrocks tour of Holland and was aided by production help from Nobody & DJ Syah. He has also worked with west coast underground giants such as Peplove from Hieroglyphics, Grouch, Eligh, PSC & Sunspot Jonz from the living Legends crew, the Rebels of Rhythm, FTS, (Fuck The System) and the CUF, (California Underground Funk).Currently circulating is his solo project "Interactive" is hip hop's quintessential self-help guide. The album's overall reoccurring theme deals with self-motivation, personal potential and the importance of portraying images based in ones reality. Mixing potent rhymes embedded in banging beats Kahlil once again guides thee way, promoting individuality and putting emphasis on bringing the fun back in a time where hip hop is shrouded by clouds of hardcore-isms and glam.
